This song literally makes me get butterflies in my stomach. Number one, J Alvarez has one of the sexiest voices ever (after Tony Dize). Number two, the lyrics in both Spanish and English are sexy. I would die if someone sang this to me in Spanish or English. Some of the translation in English is still a little awkward but not too bad. I would suggest downloading all of his songs.

So I have failed to put up lyrics for the past four days. Work was really crazy and busy this past week. I will try to do better this week. The song for this evening is "Tocarte Toa" by Calle 13. Calle 13 is known for their racy lyrics and sick beats. This is a favorite song of myself and my good friend MA. We would always put this on when we were on our way to Salsa Cabana to pump ourselves up. When MA once asked me to translate the line of the song that says "quiero comerme la ensalada entera," I translated it, "I want to eat the interior salad" instead of "entire salad" haha... rookie mistake. Since I have listened to this song over 500 times, I figured I should translate it. Everytime I hear it, it makes me think of Venezuela. It makes me really nostalgic. I think it's because it was probably the first Reggaeton song I actually learned and was able to understand. Also, it gives me flashes of going to this small town down the mountain from where I was living and drinking Polar Ice in the only discoteca nearby and getting tipsy enough to actually be able to speak spanish. I also think about my first "real" latin love when I hear this song because most of my first experiences in Venezuela were with him, including dancing Reggaeton. ;-) Isn't it crazy how one song can remind you of so many things?

Ya que he escuchado esta canción más que 500 veces, me imaginé que debía traducirla. Cada vez que la escucho, me pone pensar en Venezuela. Me pone muy nostálgica. Yo creo que es porque esa probablemente fue la primera canción de Reggaeton que yo actualmente aprendí y que podía entender. Además me da flashes de ir a un pueblito que estaba cerca a donde yo vivía y beber Polar Ice en la única discoteca cerca y entonarme tanto que yo podía hablar español sin pena. También, pienso en mi primero amor "verdadero" latino cuando eschuche a esta canción porque la mayoría de mis experiencias en Venezuela fueron con él, incluso bailar reggaeton. Es algo loco como sola una cancíon se puede hacer acordar de tantas cosas.

One of my favorite duos is Wisin y Yandel. I went and saw them in concert in July and it was by far one of the most awesome concerts I've ever been to in my life. Every time I hear this song I think of my friend Chloe doing her crazy dance to this song in Monterreys Mexican Restaraunt. However, upon translating this song, I realized that it doesn't make much sense. I don't think there is really a good translation in English for "abusadora" in this context. I would probably describe an abusadora, in this context, as a beautiful woman who drives a man crazy and perhaps takes advantage of him, but I'm still not sure if that's good. Other than that though, the song doesn't have much of a purpose except for the fact that it's awesome and makes you want to dance. Enjoy!





Uno de mis duos favoritos es Wisin y Yandel. Yo fui para verlos en vivo en julio y fue uno de los conciertos más cheveres que yo he asistido en mi vida. Cada vez que escucho a esta canción, pienso en mi amigo Chloe bailando como loca a esta canción en Monterrey's Resteraunt Mexicano. Sin embargo, al traduciar esta canción, me di cuenta que no la tenía mucho sentido. Creo que no hay una buena traducción en inglés para la palabra, "abusadora" en este sentido. Yo describiré una abusadora, en este sentido, como una mujer hermosa quien les vuelve locos a los hombres, y tal vez, aprovecha de él, pero todavía no sé si esta es una buena descripción. Aparte de eso, la canción no tiene mucho propósito menos el hecho que es bien chevere y se hace querer bailar. Disfruten!

I listened to this song on repeat 20 times when I first discovered it. I have to admit, I'm in love with Tony Dize.
